I was surprised at how small this door alarm is when I got it. I just love it though.It's is small, but easy to handle and thus easy to take with me when I travel.It's simply a doorstop and will react if it's plate is pressed down if the door opens on to it.The siren is loud enough to make a disturbance if it goes off.
I use it every night in my apartment and it gives me just one more way to feel safe.I have to pick it up every morning first things so I don't forget and open the door for someone and set it off.
It is small and light and my cat likes to play with it so I have to put it up on a counter during the day so she doesn't get it.If you odn't have a pet then you could leave it on the floor up against the wall and out of the way if you like.
It has a sensitivity setting so because of the risk of my cat getting it I have mine set on the least sensitive but I feel fine with that since I figure it will get plenty of pressure if someone actually opens the door on it.
