It looks great sitting on my night table and if I didn't need to tell the time it would get five stars, no question.Unfortunately, the designer chose silver hands on a silver face in a silver case.To distinguish these features under the best light I have to bob my head like a lizard on a hot rock, until the light catches the hands just right. The face of the main clock is also cluttered with four hands, where the second and minute hands are the same size, as are the hour and alarm hands (the latter is red but in the half light of morning that contrast is lost.)In normal use, which is staring at it out of one bleary eye and wondering if I'm late for the morning school run, by the time I know what time it is I'm already awake.
Also, there's no snooze function, and the alarm hand can only be wound anti-clockwise.If you wake up at slightly different times during the week you'll have to wind the hand all the way around the dial every few days.
This clock is like a ladies dress watch; it's stylish, well-made, and looks great.I regretted having to return it.It might be right for you, but if you need to know the time with clarity and minimum fuss then look at something else first.
